Passatempo Margão & Lume Brando: os vencedores. // Giveaway Margão & Lume Brando: the winners.

The Margão and Lume Brando giveaway, held at facebook during last weeks, has finished.
We were very pleased with the enthusiasm shown by the participants (some sent more than a recipe!) and we want to congratulate you all for the flavorful suggestions.

It wasn't easy to choose between so many good things! The participants that will receive one Margão product pack (Salt with Mediterranean herbs,  5 peper berries, Vegetables and Salads Seasoning, Barbecue Seasoning, Pepper for poultry + 3 placemats) are: Claudia Pinto, from Delícias Cá da Casa, with a unique 'Stuffed Padrón Peppers', Sara Maia, from Cozinha100Limites, with little pies that combine several traditional flavors and so were baptized as 'Pies that taste like Portugal', and Lena Kitller, with a sort of "bombokas" (remember?) made of rice pudding!

You can find the first recipes via the links to the respective blogs.
Lena Kitller has no blog, so here is her recipe for XL rice pudding chocolates.

And today begins the most representative summer month: happy August everyone!

Bombom XL de Arroz Doce

Receita de Lena Kitller*

180 g de arroz carolino
1 l de leite meio gordo

100 g de açúcar mascavado

1 gema

Retirar do lume, juntar o açúcar e mexer bem.

XL Pudding Rice Chocolates
Lena Kitller *

180 g 'carolino' rice
1 liter of half-skimmed milk
100 g brown sugar
1 egg yolk
Zest of 1 lemon
4 star anise (Margão)
200 g dark chocolate
1 tablespoon pink peppercorns (Margão)

Place the milk and anise star-shaped pods in a saucepan and bring to medium heat until it boils, stirring occasionally. Add the washed rice, stirring constantly, for about 40 minutes or until rice is cooked. If the rice starts to get dry without being cooked add milk gradually stirring constantly. Remove from heat, add the sugar and stir well. Add the yolk beaten with a little cold milk and stir well. Leave to cool slightly.
In a mortar reduce pink pepper. Melt the chocolate in the microwave along with the pepper. Always stir every 20 seconds until smooth. Coat the candy shaped bowls with chocolate and refrigerate to set. Cups, if plastic - like yogurt or disposable cups - should be wet before taking the chocolate, if glass must be covered with cling film. Remove from the fridge and fill the bowls with rice pudding. Cover the rice pudding with a thin layer of chocolate.
Put in the fridge. To serve, remove the bowls from the chocolate candies. If plastic, cut the plastic and go carefully peeling off; if glass, remove the candy and remove the cling film.
Serve plain or decorated to your taste.

*Not tested by Lume Brando.
